Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote approximately ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and in reality various podiatry programs lie inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received substantial health care training with a focus on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to deal with problems ranging from common ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent numerous issues which the feet frequently experience.
