Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend about ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs lie inside these institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received significant healthcare training with a stress on complications concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat problems extending from regular disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which give them the prior experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and help prevent a large number of complications which the feet commonly experience.
