Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in reality various podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained encompassing health care education with a stress on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are qualified to manage complications varying from normal afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which supply them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and prevent a large number of conditions which the feet typically encounter.
