After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained extensive health care instruction with a main focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to deal with complications ranging from simple afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against many troubles which the feet usually experience.
