Foot Institute Podiatrists devote an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired extensive health care training with a stress on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to treat concerns ranging from standard conditions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more intricate including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which supply them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities permits a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
