Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They spend about a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality several podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained extensive health care instruction with a main focus on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are educated to manage difficulties varying from conventional disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which furnish them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against numerous issues which the feet commonly encounter.
