Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired considerable medical training with an importance on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage conditions ranging from general conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more intricate including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet normally encounter.
