Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received encompassing medical training with an attention to on issues concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to manage problems stretching from typical problems for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent countless problems which the feet frequently encounter.
