Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in point of fact a number of podiatry programs are contained within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained significant medical training with an emphasis on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to deal with difficulties extending from familiar disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which supply them the experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against countless complications which the feet routinely experience.
