Our podiatrists devote about ten years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained significant healthcare training with a main focus on problems involving the ankles and feet. They are studied to manage problems ranging from simple ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which provide them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and prevent a large number of issues which the feet generally encounter.
