Our podiatrists invest about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained encompassing healthcare training with an emphasis on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. They are taught to manage concerns ranging from commonplace conditions for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical instruction which give them the practical experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet routinely encounter.
