Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors spend approximately ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in reality a number of podiatry programs lie inside these academic institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have gained substantial medical training with an attention to on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat issues ranging from common disorders like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which give them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid many problems which the feet usually encounter.
