Foot Institute Podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained comprehensive health care instruction with a stress on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to address problems stretching from usual ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which provide them the experience necessary to conduct surgery on those issues that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent numerous conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
