Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in around 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received thorough health care training with an importance on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat problems ranging from normal problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which give them the prior experience vital to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent numerous conditions which the feet usually encounter.
