Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote approximately a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs lie within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received encompassing medical training with a stress on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to manage concerns ranging from familiar afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which give them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and defend against a large number of complications which the feet typically encounter.
