Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained wide-ranging health care training with an emphasis on problems concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to address issues extending from commonplace afflictions like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which supply them the expertise required to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet commonly encounter.
