Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and several podiatry programmes are contained within these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired encompassing medical training with a concentration on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to address conditions ranging from normal afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of many complications which the feet normally experience.
