Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote around 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are contained within these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough medical training with an importance on concerns involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to deal with issues ranging from general disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the experience vital to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet normally experience.
