Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained wide-ranging medical education with a concentration on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are skilled to treat conditions extending from standard afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which supply them the skill required to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent many issues which the feet frequently experience.
