Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in about ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles usual medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired thorough medical education with a focus on issues regarding the ankles and feet. They are skilled to address problems varying from usual problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical training which give them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and help prevent many conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
