Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained extensive healthcare instruction with an emphasis on difficulties involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to treat problems ranging from commonplace conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent many issues which the feet usually encounter.
