Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and quite a number podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained wide-ranging medical training with a concentration on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat complications ranging from familiar afflictions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which supply them the experience vital to perform surgery on those concerns that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet frequently experience.
