Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received encompassing health care instruction with a concentration on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat problems extending from general conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical instruction which furnish them the prior experience vital to perform surgery on those troubles that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous troubles which the feet usually experience.
