Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists spend an average of a decade in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received thorough medical education with a main focus on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to address conditions stretching from commonplace conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and defend against many issues which the feet routinely encounter.
