Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received wide-ranging medical education with a stress on problems regarding the feet and ankles. They are taught to treat issues ranging from usual problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which supply them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.
Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent many issues which the feet frequently experience.
