Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in point of fact various podiatry training programs lie within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received encompassing medical instruction with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to deal with issues extending from simple problems for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which provide them the expertise needed to conduct surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and defend against countless complications which the feet normally experience.
