Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact many podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained wide-ranging medical education with a concentration on complications regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to manage concerns varying from standard afflictions for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which give them the expertise essential to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous conditions which the feet usually encounter.
