Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and a number of podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained considerable healthcare training with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat problems ranging from typical problems like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which supply them the expertise vital to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and help prevent countless issues which the feet usually encounter.
