At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired encompassing medical training with a focus on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to treat concerns ranging from commonplace afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical training which furnish them the skill required to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.
Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
