Foot Institute Podiatrists spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received considerable medical instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to treat conditions varying from conventional conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical training which supply them the prior experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and avoid many conditions which the feet commonly experience.
