Foot Institute Podiatrists devote an average of ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical training with a main focus on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to handle problems ranging from normal afflictions like ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which supply them the experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems permits a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and defend against many troubles which the feet generally encounter.
