Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat conditions ranging from simple problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more intricate such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid many complications which the feet normally encounter.
