Foot Institute Podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and actually several podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained thorough medical training with a main focus on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to manage problems stretching from normal problems for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which provide them the experience required to execute surgery on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against numerous problems which the feet generally encounter.
