Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists spend around ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired encompassing medical education with a focus on issues regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to handle problems extending from standard ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which provide them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid countless troubles which the feet routinely experience.
