Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They put in an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs lie within these schools. Upon achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained encompassing medical training with a concentration on issues involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to handle difficulties varying from typical disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which give them the practical experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent many problems which the feet usually encounter.
