Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote around a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programmes are contained inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received wide-ranging medical instruction with an importance on concerns involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to manage problems ranging from regular ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complex such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical instruction which provide them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and protect against many problems which the feet normally encounter.
