Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging healthcare education with an importance on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to treat difficulties extending from usual ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical training which give them the experience needed to execute surgery on those concerns that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities facilitates a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and protect against numerous conditions which the feet usually encounter.
