Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and several podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have obtained extensive healthcare training with a concentration on conditions involving the ankles and feet. They are instructed to manage problems varying from regular problems for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which supply them the practical experience crucial to perform surgery on those conditions that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against numerous conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
