Podiatrists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received wide-ranging health care training with a stress on issues regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to handle complications ranging from commonplace ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which give them the prior experience crucial to conduct surgery on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of many conditions which the feet regularly experience.
