Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend an average of ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact various podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained considerable medical training with an attention to on conditions involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage concerns extending from typical afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical instruction which give them the prior experience crucial to execute surgery on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and minimize the risk of countless complications which the feet normally encounter.
