Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors invest approximately ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact various podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired thorough medical instruction with an emphasis on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat concerns stretching from basic afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical training which give them the skill essential to conduct surgery on those problems that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities enables a Podiatric doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent countless complications which the feet commonly encounter.
