Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and numerous podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical training with a concentration on complications concerning the feet and ankles. They are trained to treat difficulties extending from familiar afflictions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities facilitates a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid many problems which the feet generally experience.
