Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They invest approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in fact various podiatry programs lie within these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained wide-ranging medical education with a stress on complications regarding the ankles and feet. They are studied to address issues extending from usual afflictions for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which furnish them the skill necessary to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and avoid many conditions which the feet typically encounter.
