Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and actually various podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received extensive medical training with an emphasis on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to deal with issues ranging from conventional conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which supply them the practical experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and prevent countless conditions which the feet usually encounter.
