Podiatrists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors spend an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these schools. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired wide-ranging health care education with an attention to on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to manage concerns stretching from basic problems for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which give them the practical experience crucial to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of many issues which the feet routinely encounter.
