Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest approximately a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received extensive medical training with a concentration on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to treat issues ranging from simple afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more intricate like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the practical experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent many conditions which the feet commonly encounter.
