Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest around ten years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and actually quite a number podiatry training programs are contained inside these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received considerable medical training with a main focus on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. They are qualified to address conditions stretching from usual afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical instruction which give them the skill essential to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and prevent a large number of complications which the feet usually experience.
