Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and actually a number of podiatry programmes are located within these schools. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained wide-ranging medical education with an attention to on complications concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to manage conditions ranging from conventional conditions such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which give them the prior experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are best remedied through surgical intervention.
Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks.
