Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They invest approximately a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive medical training with a main focus on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to deal with difficulties stretching from familiar conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more perplexing including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which furnish them the expertise crucial to perform surgery on those complications that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent many problems which the feet normally encounter.
