After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging health care education with an emphasis on conditions involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid numerous conditions which the feet commonly encounter.
